I have a folder named 6d77d89d35c0b6ad1b719b858fda on my hard drive.  I have no idea how it got there, and I don't recognize any of the files in the folder.  I tried deleting it but I got an error saying, you do not have permission to access this folder.  Any idea on what this is?  How can I get rid of it?  Is it possible that it is a virus?

Dear thanks for your question. The folder 6d77d89d35c0b6ad1b719b858fda is system folders so you can’t delete this file and don’t worry this not a virus or other harmful file. If you don’t want to see the file then follows the process giver below:

Open MY COMPUTER-click on TOOLS –click on FOLDER OPTION -click on VIEW-after this click on DON’T SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND CLICK OK

AFTER THIS SELECT THE FILE WHICH YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE –RIGHT CLICK ON MOUSE –CLICK ON PROPERTIES ON POP UP MENU – CLICK ON HIDDEN AND CLICK OK

Hello Eric,

The folder you are referring is not an infection or any malicious program, it's a system file and is created automatically. You cannot delete a system file as a normal file or a folder. You can either hide the folder so it won't bother you no more, or you can use a tool which can traverse a deep path.

However the second method is slightly less practical as it is more suitable for files or folders on a NTFS system volume. So suggestion is to go for a folder hide.

You can use folder options in control panel and set the hidden folders invisible.

Hope this has cleared your doubts.
