Hi everyone,
I use a Canon HV20 and got it hooked to my laptop through firewire. It does not sync with the camera but when I click the GET VIDEO button the camera starts playing the video as I can see the timer moving. Then I get this error below:

Recorder captured no frames.

The screen is black but apparently still capturing. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Cannot connect my pc to my camera
This error "Recorder Captured No Frames" caused by the camera settings. All camera allows you to configure the lens and how it captured the images. Brightness, color and sizes can be set according to your taste. You can check the manual of the camera you bought where it has the do's and don'ts'. They should have "how to fix" manual and instructions to look upon. This manual has the steps to perform and procedure to follow when fixing specific problem.
The possible issue that you might encounter is the pixilated graphics. This is normal and can be set to the highest standard pixel, graphics and resolutions. A quick change of settings on the camera will play or capture the video to a better resolutions. It's brand new equipment, camera so don't worry about getting damaged, it's brand new and I'm sure this is still under warranty. You can play around on how to set, change the settings that is according to your likeness.
