I am running a windows operating system and i am skeptical about virus. I want to watch some videos online from YouTube but i don't know if i will give room for virus to swim into my computer and start damaging my files. That is why i am asking this question to be clear about what i want to do. Can i get virus by watching YouTube videos? Or how can i get virus in relation to YouTube?
Can you get a virus from YouTube by watching videos?
Well, you are lucky you posted this question. Now read kindly and make sure you doubts are clear after this solution to your question. Watching of videos in YouTube, you cannot get viruses from there so the simple answer to the first question is NO.
In relation to YouTube, you can get viruses. When you are connected to the internet, the only way to get viruses is when those viruses are downloaded into your computer meaning you can click on a link that takes you to a video and before you are taken to that video, a file gets downloaded which is a .exe file. That file might be a computer virus because that is the format they take. Another ways is by clicking on ads on the internet or downloading a video that a virus has been hidden in it. All these can bring viruses into your computer but note that for the viruses to be in your computer, they must have been downloaded.
If it is just simply watching videos from YouTube, then no viruses can be gotten but for any other thing you are doing, then you can get viruses online.
