I have an external storage medium, a USB hard, containing viruses originating from my Windows box. If I plug it into my Linux box, what will happen? What if I use Wine?

Can Windows Viruses come into LINUX?

Hi there ,

your concern is whether windows virus will work on Linux operating system .

A definite NO to that , Even if you use wine it still wont work , Wine is just an emulator and it does nothing with the main Linux system.

Linux kernel and its functions are literally far different from Windows Kernel system , So don't worry your Viruses in your External hard drive wont come to attack your Linux based System .

Linux is widely known or popular as a Virus free Operating system , So in general case also Viruses rarely attack your Linux operating system . Its mere difficult for it to spread that's why Android OS and many other OS are based on Linux kernels to work on.

Hope that solves your problem and is clear with my answer.
