HELLO Suppose,

I am using a server with Direct Attached Storage (DAS) and that server is connected to a small sized Local Area Network (LAN). Now if clients from the network use the storage space attached to server for back up purpose then logically can we call it as NAS (Network Attached Storage) ? Please give me detailed explanation as I want to satisfy my curiosity.

Thank you all in advance Unknown Object

Hello William N Young,   Actually you cant call this Network Attached Storage(NAS). Direct attached storage have access to only limited terminals but network attached storage is connected to number terminals. Also there is a difference in matter of size. Direct attached network is very compacted and so small in size whereas Network attached storage have very large size. So you can call these two terms same. There is wide difference.
