Can’t install Office on Sony Vaio with Windows 7

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio and use Windows 7. I have recently bought Windows Office Home & Student, but I cannot install it. I start the installation processes, and everything seems to be working until I get a message stating “This program cannot start because c2r32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem”.

What should I do? I don’t know what program is missing, but all other things work fine.

When you are installing a program on your computer and the computer prompts you with a missing DLL error, this is usually because the application you are installing is not compatible with your operating system. If this happens, you need to check the software’s system requirements or specifications to verify.

If you are using Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013, it supports Windows 7 and Windows 8 as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012. It doesn’t support Windows Vista and earlier operating systems. I guess this is the latest version of Microsoft Office as of 2014. Since you are using Microsoft Windows 7 then there should be no problem installing it on your computer.

Try it again and see if it works. If it doesn’t, try running the installer as administrator. Right-click on the Office installer or “setup.exe”, point to “Run as” and then select Administrator. See if this will work. If you still see the same error with the missing DLL file, download Microsoft Fix It and then run the tool after the download.

Follow the instructions on your screen. This should fix your problem with the installation.
