I'm having trouble regarding my font size. Is there any option wherein I can change the font size in Eclipse idea printing? Trying to print some codes using CUPS and the fonts are just enormous, with no option to lower the size of the fonts.

Hey Ferrari,

To reduce the font size in your eclipse environment, follow the steps below:

1. Locate the place where you have saved the eclipse environment and double click on its’ icon to launch the eclipse environment.

2. Once the eclipse environment is opened, go to the menu bar and click on the Window menu. (A drop down menu appears).

3. Click on the preferences option from the drop down menu that appears. This opens the preferences Window.

4. On the left pane of the window that appears, click on the option ‘General’. See the illustration below:

 Windows Preferences Java Settings

When the general is clicked, it displays a couple of items under it as shown below:

Preferences type filter text capabilities

5. On the left pane of the Window, click on Appearances (this displays certain items under it) and select colors and fonts under it. The color and fonts Window displays a list of the various themes one can use to change the font size and font type of the fonts in eclipse.

6. To visualize the font types and font sizes of the various themes, click on each theme and from the items displayed; select the option with the font type for that theme. An example of the font type and size applied on text is shown on the preview tab at the bottom of the Window.

7. If you aren’t pleased with the font type and size of that theme, you can modify this to meet your expectations by clicking on the edit tab on the right hand side of the Window. (A window appears to consist of the various font types, styles and sizes you would like to choose from).

8. Select the font type, size and style you would wish to be applies after which you press on the OK button at the bottom of the Window to apply the changes. This takes you back to the colors and fonts Window. You will notice that the text in the preview will change according to the changes that you have made.

9. If no other changes are to be made, click on the apply button at the bottom of the Window to apply the changes in the eclipse environment and then click on the ‘OK’ button.

10. However, if you would like to go to restore the font settings; click on the ‘Restore defaults’ button at the bottom of the colors and fonts Window and then click on the ‘OK’ button.

I do hope that you will be able to change the font size of your eclipse environment from the above information.
