Hello Tristan,

Generally, the household AC line found in most homes do not interfere with your computer network whether wired (Ethernet cable) or wireless (WiFi).

A cat 5 cable which is commonly used for Ethernet networks uses a twisted pair design which rejects noise. Differential signaling also eliminates noise. Some cables also come with shielding to eliminate external interference.

As for wireless networks, wireless devices operate at 2.4GHz while AC line is at 50 Hz to 60 Hz. The difference in operating signal ensures that the two do not interfere with each other.

Another less common method of networking is power line networking which uses the AC power line itself as the medium of data transmission.
