Hi people.
I have been terribly pissed with pop ups whenever I am working on Internet Explorer. This keeps happening even when I am building a blog online using WordPress. I sincerely don't understand what these advertisements and other related pop ups are. I have been advised to try IE Companion with the promise that it will resolve this. Do you believe that? Have you ever tried it? Does it really work impeccably? Thanks.

If pop-ups and advertisements often come up while you are browsing the web, it may indicate that your computer is infected with malware or a virus. When you mentioned that it happens even during the simple act of building a blog on WordPress, then it means that a background application is causing these pop-ups to appear.

I would suggest running a full system scan using a strong antivirus software (Norton is one). Make sure that your virus databases are always up to date. Uninstall any unnecessary applications like toolbars.

As for IE Companion, it is just a bundle of Internet utilities, some of which, you won’t need. Most Internet Browsers nowadays have their own built-in pop-up blocker so if it isn’t working, then something obviously is preventing it.

I would also advise you to be careful when clicking on these advertisements as doing so may cause applications to get installed in your computer without your knowledge.

Pop ups basically created by the advertiser to visit their websites. But you can easily disable the pop ups from your browser. At first open Internet Explorer then go to the Internet option from the Tools menu. Now from the Privacy tab uncheck the option Turn on pop up blocker. Then click on Apply and Ok respectively. Hopefully pop ups won't show after that.
