Can I convert files from PageMaker to MS Publisher? I have a text document made in PageMaker that needs to be updated. We only have MS Publisher 2003 (but we will be upgrading to Publisher 2007 in a couple of weeks).

Hello there! There is no way that you can convert a pagemaker file to ms publisher but if it is only text that you need, there is a possible way to do it. You can first try copying and pasting the text file or by using Export in the text flow to get the text out of pagemaker. Another way is to save your pagemaker file as an image so you can open it in publisher. Also, try recovering the text of your pagemaker files in ms word. This one might work because ms word can recover text file to any type of document but there is no guarantee that it will be successful.

Hallo Norman,

The only way you can be able to convert PageMaker files is by copying and pasting. It is possible to reconvert text from any file in MS Word, and therefore the text will recover better if converted in Word than Publisher.

Otherwise, converting the other way round, from Publisher to PageMaker will involve the following steps:

  • On your computer you will need to go to the start Menu, and then choose All Programs.
  • After that you will go to Adobe, and then select "Adobe PageMaker,". After that you will need to scroll down and then select "Converter for Microsoft Publisher & QuarkXPress."
  • After that, go to dialogue box, and then navigate to File and then choose "Select Files." You will need to find the file you wish to convert and choose "Select.
  • After that you will click to highlight the selected files, and then click "Convert."

Regards,

Carl
