Can I accomplish shortcut error repair on XP

Hello,

When there are anomalies in the system, shortcuts get deleted. For example, the desktop shortcut and the internet explorer shortcut will disappear. First, disable "Hide extensions for known file types" option in "Folder Options". Click on start to open the RUN dialog box and type "shell: send to" then press Enter. "Send To" folder will open. Now, right-click on a blank area in the folder and select "New -> Text document". A text file will be created with the name "New Text Document.txt". Rename this file and set its name to "Desktop (create shortcut). DeskLink". You did it. Now you should have "Desktop (create shortcut)" option back in "Send To" menu.

To repair the Internet Explorer shortcut do the following steps:
1. Click "Start," then "Computer."
2. Double click "Local Disk (C:)."
3. Double click "Program Files."
4. Double click the "Internet Explorer" folder.
5. Right click "iexplore.exe." Click "Send to," and then "Desktop(create shortcut).

I hope this is helpful.
