Can anyone please tell me how to delete a possible Trojan virus? I think I got this from an image I clicked on while on Google search result. I quarantined the file after receiving a warning message from my Verizon Security Suite. Later, I saw a couple of processes called avgidsagent.exe and avgidsmonitor.exe running on my computer even after running a virus scan twice. Also, I did not receive an attach.txt report after running DDS and DDS as my PC hung while trying to get it.

Hi there? My number one advice will be that you try out other well known anti virus software or make sure your current anti virus is up to date. But if you find it impossible to get rid of those viruses/Trojans, you can always carry out a system restore to a previous date when your computer was still working fine. You can find the system restore option in the system tools. You can also open start and on the search box type in “system restore”, launch it then follow the wizard. Always remember to make a restore point incase of such events.

Hello

Some worms, Trojans, malware etc can be especially difficult to remove.

You sometimes have to run more than one antivirus tool to remove it.

Malwarebytes is one of the highest ranking tools in removing spyware and malware.

There is a free and paid option. The free version will be fine to use.

They also have a rootkit removal tool which will be able to remove the very difficult viruses as well.

It can be downloaded here

  • Download and install both applications
  • Update all your antivirus software to the latest versions. This is important.
  • Restart your pc.
  • Keep pressing the F8 key
  • Windows will give you a list of different versions of windows you want to start up
  • Select safemode windows.
  • Once Windows is loaded run a full system scan with your antivirus program.
  • When your antivirus has completed the scan start Malwarebytes.
  • This window will appear.
  • Select full system scan.
  • Then click scan.
  • A scan will run.
  • When the scan completes you may see a list that looks similar to this
  • Click the remove selected button
  • Malware Bytes will remove the viruses.
  • It may ask you to restart. Do so.
