I want to put .sf2 files on My SII Android Jelly Bean (v4.2).  Can android phones use soundfonts in its built-in player or do I have to install a midi player to play it?

Hello

You can't play midi files with built-in music player. I suggest using Midi Pad 2.0. You can download it from here: https://android.lisisoft.com/a/91006-com.midipad.html

It's free application which enables you to play midi files with no problems on your Android phon. Just download and install it, and you are ready for playing midi files.

I hope I helped you. Regards.

Hi Joycedparker,

Basically, the Android platform does not support those kind of files but there are applications that will be able to read them. One of them is the Karaoke Live MIDI player which comes in a demo and paid version. It can serve as a karaoke machine and can playback .sf2 files. Their newest version is v1.7.2 which can support MIDI and KAR files.

Hope this helps.
