Bugs on VLC Media Player volume 200% only?

Hi and good day!

I was very confused on the new version of VLC media player. In version 1.1 of VLC, the maximum volume was at 400 %. While in the latest 2.0 version of VLC, media player volume 200 % was the loudest. We know the difference between 200 and 400. But what  I like most was the older version of it, where the max volume was the best. So guys, does this update was just a bug in the software? If yes, how can solve this problem? Any help would be nice. Thank you and good day!

Hello

This is not a bug, you need to enable that level of sound volume in settings of VLC Media Player. To do this follow these instructions:

go to Tools -> Preferences

change option Show settings to All

go to Interface -> Main interface -> Qt -> Check Allow volume to be set to 400%

I hope I helped you. Regards.

Hi Bennie, VLC Media Player has a different updates like new functions, new themes, bug fixes. But in your case 400 max volume for 200 is not a BUG it is common . VLC Media Player down it because the 400  max volume can't play the song well. If you want to have a 400 max volume you can actually don't update the VLC Media Player. Hope I solved your problem best regards

No, that change or reduction in the max volume was maybe by design. If you were able to use the version with 400% max volume, the latest version at the moment, VLC media player 3.0.8 “Vetinari”, the maximum volume allowed is only up to 125%. One reason why they dropped the max volume is probably the quality of the output.

If the audio of a video is very poor or is in very low quality, for example, and you amplify it boosting it to 400%, you will have a very ugly audio output. Another reason might be is with the hardware or the sound card. In my opinion, boosting the audio to that level can damage the sound card especially old sound cards.

Like what happened to my sound card, after boosting it to like 200%, I started to have audio problems with my computer and later completely busting it. If you haven’t updated yet to the latest version, download the latest VLC media player.
