Bluetooth media streaming not working

Hi there,

I have a Dell STudio XPS running on Windows 8.1 which has a Bluetooth receiver plugged in a Bose sound dock, pairing with my Dell Latitude E6400 is okay but media playing is giving me a problem, I want to be able to play media files from both computers via the desktop, but synchronization on VLC and Windows media player is not working, Both applications can browse folders but cannot play the files, What could be the problem here? How do I get the media files playing?

Hello Frank,

This is real tricky. We have to consider loads of things before we could actually proceed. For example

1.   How Dell laptop is connected with BOSE speaker -Via 3.5 mm cord or Bluetooth itself

Possibly we need a physical /wired connection, so ensure this first

2.   How far are the located

Bluetooth has best working ranger ~10 mt, so we better don't go beyond that

3.   Try unpairing and pairing back once again
