Blue screen of death problem in the developer view of Windows 2008

Hi!

A developer preview of the new version of Windows Operating System has been released by Microsoft, Windows 2008.

One can download the developers preview on this page and use it on your machine or a Virtual Box. The size of the ISO file is 3.5GB for 64 bits version of Windows 8. Just the other day I have installed in on a Virtual Box machine,

when I tried to install it, I got the blue screen of death. The BSOD is usually caused by the hardware or software problems during the installation of an application, in my case the Windows 8 developer’s preview. Now I wonder what the problem is, and I cannot install it.

Any idea guys?

Your PC ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and now it needs to restart.

You can search for the error online: HAL INITIALIZATION FAILED

Thank You.

Hi,

You try to install windows 8 on Virtual Box when you get that error,

That issue occur because your version of Virtual Box is out of update and doesn't support for windows 8 requirement.

To solve the issue you must download new version of Oracle Virtual Box.

  • After you download new Virtual Box.
  • Then install it on your computer and try to install Windows 8.
  • Windows 8 also cannot install under VMware Workstation 7.x,
  • To solve the issue is to upgrade to VMware workstation 8.
  • The same for Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, Windows 8 wouldn’t run inVirtual PC 2007.
