BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 upgrading error

I am attempting to uninstall it but it is not working as I receive the message as shown below:

Black Desktop software Installer information

Please use Setup.exe for installation instead of BlackBerry Desktop Software.msi

The information provided along with the Black Desktop software would suggest using the Setup.exe while on an installation, instead of launching the BlackBerry Desktop Software.msi.

What I should I do with this error?

Hello Richard,

It’s unfortunate you faced this problem. Some software products use the same file for installation and un-installation as well. I mean to say that, if you used ‘setup.exe’ during installation, then in order to remove the software from your system you need to launch the same file. So, if the product is installed on your system and you launch the setup file, it will automatically detect the installed software on your system and will move forward to ask you for un-installation. Your case is the same, Blackberry Desktop Manager uses the same file for installation and un-installation. So, to un-install BB Desktop Manager, you need to launch ‘setup.exe’ instead of the ‘MSI’ file.

I have run into this problem before and I find the easiest solution to be to download a program called Revo Uninstaller. This program can be downloaded for free and completely removes any program along with all components, that the regular uninstall does not cover. It will even remove all registry items. Here is the link for Revo
