Black screen after loading windows

I have a Samsung CTR monitor, a video card with S-Video jack.

I connected my computer to my JVC television and it works fine,

But I cannot see clearly the text and graphics so I decided to use again my monitor.

But when I put back Samsung monitor, after the “windows loading” my monitor suddenly turns black.

What could be the cause of this black screen?

Is my video card damaged?

Please help me with this.

The screen resolution possibly changed when you connect you computer to your JVC TV that’s why when you reconnect your monitor to the computer it cannot handle the screen resolution. Try to boot from safe mode and see if the computer loads on desktop.

If successful then the screen resolution and the refresh rates has changed. The problem is how to restore its original settings?

The only thing that you can do is to uninstall the driver for your video card when your computer is on safe mode. Uninstall it from the control panel > Add/Remove programs in Windows XP.

On Vista and 7 users, from the control panel click the default programs. After you have uninstalled the driver for the video card, restart your computer in normal mode. This will fix the black screen problem; Install again the driver to fix the lag issue and to correct the screen resolution and the screen refresh rates.

Dear Daniel,

There are several possible causes:

The resolution is too high.
If the cause is because the resolution is too high, you do not need to do a reinstallation. Simply go into safe mode, click properties on my computer, click on hardware, device manager, remove the display, then do a refresh or restart.
The computer will automatically find the drivers to be able to use VGA you use. If not found, looks likely to be broken, then you should install the VGA driver.

Operating system problems

There is another possibility, namely the operating system is problematic. Probably due to a virus or a component of the operating system is lost. If due to a virus, do the cleaning done first before reinstalling.

Bad Sector.

In case of bad sectors, you must replace the hardisk with no hard drive for bad sectors., Can be new or second hard drive., Because if not replaced, the next time this problem will happen again. Of course, replace hardisk must reinstall the operating system.
