I ran the Belrac Advisor on one of my Windows XP SP 3 machine. It is a legitimate and genuine version of Windows.

After I ran the Belrac it advised me to download a few latest fixes.

When I checked the updates, I found that It was related to Microsoft updates.

To verify the same I tried to start Belrac Advisor in order to check the logs and it came up with the following error message:

Belarc Advisor: Error updating history log A sharing violation occurred while accessing

C:Program FilesBelarcAdvisorSystemSecurity\BellNotifyHistory.log.

Is there any other place where I can view the logs?

Please help.

Are you running as administrator? Attempt right-clicking about the Belarc icon and also "running as admin". In the event that doesn't function, add "take ownership" to the context menu then consider ownership of the Belarc file and also the whole Program Files folder (it might take a short while to complete).

Whether or not this nevertheless doesn't function, you may either run this from Hidden Admin Account or just make use of Everest (http://everest.software.informer.com/)
