There is a simple thing I want to do in Photoshop.

I want to add a watermark to my photos.

Being a beginner, what is the shortest and easiest way to do this?

Open your photo.

Choose a color, select your Type Tool and type the desired text for your watermark. (i.e. Your name, blog , etc.)

To finish typing in the text press the “commit any current edits button”. (A small checkmark in the upper portion of your screen, next to a small cancel button.)

Select the text layer that has been created in the Layers Palete(lower right side of the screen) and  change the Opacity to a value that you think would be best for your watermark.

You have successfully created your watermark.

If you choose to rotate your watermark to better fit with your image, select the text layer, click on the Edit menu and select Transform>Rotate. You will notice that handles appear on your object. Move the cursor outside of the object until you notice that your cursor becomes small curved arrows. Click and drag to the left or right to rotate your watermark. To finish press Enter.

Finally, to move your watermark anywhere on the image, make sure you have the Move Tool (V) selected from the Photoshop Toolbox (top left of your screen). Then click on your text layer and simply drag and drop the object over your image and position it wherever you wish to have it displayed.
