I have installed in my computer the Lotus Notes version 8.5.
How can I configure it in such a way so that my instant messages will be saved and is this also applicable to my past instant messages received and were once saved as well?

To done it perfectly, you can use Instant Messaging settings in IBM SmartCloud™ Notes® Administration.
You have to logged on to instant messaging community. Note that, IBM Lotus Notes® 8.5.2 or later clients can create an automatic connection to the instant messaging community.
It will be done, if the clients are installed with the Sametime (integrated) option.
Obviously you can change the default settings. You have to go this site for a perfect configuration that you desired.
