Hello Techyv,

My colleague sent me an email with files that need to be translated, but Babylon can t translate pdf files.

The only thing I did recently was to update my anti-virus software and restart my computer; I have also made sure that adobe reader works with Babylon as I have worked on a document last night.

What should I do?

It is possible that your software is not updated. Can I ask you about your software version?

If you are running Babylon 9, In order to use this effectively, you will need to check your windows OS compatible requirement's with your existing Babylon version.

Windows OS:

Babylon 9 requirements

  • Intel® Core™2 Duo or AMD Phenom® II processor
  • 32-bit & 64-bit operating system required: Microsoft® XP, Microsoft® Vista or Windows® 7
  • 1GB of RAM (2GB or more recommended)
  • 100MB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required after installation to add Babylon glossaries (cannot install on removable flash storage devices)
  • Adobe® Flash® Player
  • Sound card
  • Broadband Internet connection required for online services

Compatible with  :

  • Word ,Excel ,Power Point ,Outlook 2003 2007 2010
  • Internet Explorer 7.x and Above
  • Firefox 3.x and above
  • Google Chrome 5 and above
  • Adobe® Reader 8.x and above

If not compatible, you can install Babylon 9 which has an added functionality which is this one: For Document Translation, Office 2007 and above. But before installing the updated software, you will need to uninstall your previous Babylon software.

If steps above are not so okay. You can turn off your anti-virus software temporarily: Go to Start then click Control Panel after that you will need to search firewalls or Antivirus, type it in the search box which is located on the top bar of the control panel page. Then restart your PC Or If the that was sent to you is in zip.file you cannot do anything to view the texts on the Babylon software or you the Babylon cannot translate it alone. Additionally: you can visit adobe

Hi,

If you want to open your PDF files and getting an error while open a file so you have two options to resolve that issue.

1-  You can use Acrobat reader it has easy options to configure.
2-  You can delete your current PDF editor and get an updated editor so you will have no issue after that.

Thanks,
Raun Nelson
