Avira Control Center generates the error

Avira Control Center generates the error on the picture I attached. I find it a bit strange because it’s a system error rather than a Realtime Protection error message.

Other software on my PC considers BootSectGui.exe to be clean.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a problem with Avira?

Hello Athan,

Use the following workaround to resolve the issue that you are getting right now with Avira:

  • First, you will need to choose the kind of file that you need to scan from the Detection Range section.
  • After that you will have to choose an action from the Action on Detection section.
  • And then, regardless of whether you want the detections to be treated automatically or separately, you will need to choose a procedure from the Default action menu.
  • And then select an action for the infected item: Delete or Move files to quarantine or Ignore until next VDF update.
  • Next you will need to save your settings and after that close the dialog.
  • After that click OK and then type your password to allow Avira to save your customized settings.
  • And then close the preferences window without keeping your settings,  and then click Cancel.
