Hi,

I wanted to produce a small film using the AVID Media Composer but then the program is behaving weird and displays an error sometimes on launch or when opening a file. I got a screenshot of the error and it is shown below. Please have a look and suggest something that can be done about it. I have Windows 7 installed.

Avid Media Composer

Exception: DesktopSFConsumer::EarlyPreSync error PreLoading spring buffer.

Avid Media Composer Shows Error

One possible reason that might cause this problem is importing or loading a file that is not supported by Avid Media Composer. Avid Media Composer does support the majority of standard video formats like QuickTime and AVI but importing or loading of files that uses consumer compression codec like .vob is not possible.

If you want to load files in DVD format, you can use Pinnacle Liquid because this is the consumer program of Avid that accepts importing of DVD files. If the file you are loading is in a different format, try converting it first to QuickTime or .avi. After that, you can now load it straight to Avid Media Composer.

Some of the formats supported by Avid Media Composer are MP4, H.264, AVCHD, XDCAM, XAVC, Canon XF or MXF, HDV and DV, X.264, and more. See image.

So to fix your problem, convert your file first to either .avi or QuickTime. After that, load the file to the program and do your editing.
