I heard that automatic scaling available to everyone on Google Cloud Platform. Even though automatic scaling isn’t new to the cloud world, it is new to the masses on Google’s Cloud Platform. It is said that this service is now in Beta, which is Google-speak for widely available. Does anyone know more about this? Please update….

Google now offers a full suite of PaaS or Platform as a Service with Google Computer Engine, Cloud Datastore, and Google App Engine. Aside from PaaS, these 3 are also offered as IaaS or Infrastructure as a Service. These products can be used in tandem to make large-scale apps that controls the power of the Google Cloud Platform for your business objectives.

Auto-scaling is specifically beneficial or useful for those applications where the usage is impossible or tough to predict. With auto-scaling, when the load increases or rises, it allocates more resources to accommodate the need. This results to a good user experience despite of the load. On the other hand, when the resources are no longer needed, they are leveled back.

This reduces the cost or the expense of the application which results to excellent resource provisioning and utilization.
