Good morning friends,

I am an electromechanical engineer, working here in Dubai for a big project. We are using all sorts of Autodesk products but have a problem with the my Autodesk Revit 2010 drawing software. When I install Revit it says "Startup error: Revit could not load RevitMFC.dll". I have a pretty good desktop computer with nice specifications an I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate. I have no idea whatsoever why it won't install. Can someone help me with my problem? Thank you for reading,

Hoping for a quick response from the great Techyv guys out there.

Dear Sky Hall,

After watching your post, I done some research and found that error “Startup error: Revit could not load RevitMFC.dll"indicate that your system requirement does not meet the criteria for installing AutoDesk Revit 2010. Installer checks (during installation) whether your computer is compatible or not.

System Requirements for AutoDesk Revit 2010 are described below :

  • Windows Vista 64-bit with SP1, including Ultimate or Business or Home Edition or Window XP Prof with SP 164-bit.
  • Pentium 4 1.4 GHz or higher.
  • 3 GB RAM.
  • 5 GB free disk space.
  • 1280 x 1024 monitor and display adapter with 24-bit color support.
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or latest.
  • Internet connection for license registration.

You can further check other system requirements and detail.

Hope this will helpful to you.

Hi,

You need to use the AutoDesk application of 2010 family. You also need to set the CPU instructions to SSE2. This instruction is available with all the new processor by Intel and AMD. The installer check whether the processor is compatible or not. If the installer finds the processor to be incompatible then in that case, the above error is thrown. I feel you should change the processor to something that is above 2010 family. It does seems this is the issue. You need to check the processor and whether it is compatible or not.
