I have been doing this project for a client. I have two clients with almost the same perspective so what I did was created a main concept for both of them and create two different perspective. Suddenly while doing my second clients perspective drawing this error suddenly appeared that says “You can attempt to save changes into the following file up to the star of the last command: /Users/Anuka/Dropbox/Plantacubiertas_recover.dwg After you save your changes, you can open or recover the file. Should AutoCAD try to save your changes?”. What do I do with this? Any ideas? I am afraid to press continue. Help please. Thanks.

AutoCAD Alert

AutoCAD cannot continue. You can attempt to save changes into the following file up to the star of the last command:

/Users/Anuka/Dropbox/Plantacubiertas_recover.dwg

After you save your changes, you can open or recover the file.

Should AutoCAD try to save your changes?

Hello EarlLShryock,

This behavior of the software might be because of one of the following reasons :-

1). You might be making use of and calling a function from the previous version of AutoCAD. You need to make sure that all the functions you are calling in your projects are available with the version of AutoCAD you are using.

2). The other reason might be the lack of enough virtual memory. To fix this –

  • Right click ‘My Computer’ and select Properties.
  • Click -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings
  • Click -> Advanced -> Virtual memory -> Change
  • Set initial and maximum size to 4096
  • Click -> OK
  • Restart your system.
  • Done.

I think that your current workspace is corrupted and it cannot follow an autosave function so therefore you're seeing this one as an error for you, you can try 2 things that can help you deal with your solution:

1. Having a new empty workspace, try copying and pasting the entire current workspace into a new one, it should create a new cache memory and calling function (such as auto save) and it should work fine by now.

2. Another one is by turning off your ISAVEPERCENT. To turn this off, use the help menu on your autodesk (Press F1) and search ISAVEPERCENT, the software shall now proceed you to adjust the value, put 0 in there, reason why is that, autodesk is having some issues with backing up option so stop relying on that and always save your work.
