Hi there,

I am trying to install AutoCad 2011 on the network with lone server license. But I am getting one problem.

After the installation, I cannot start the AutoCad. I get the following error message:

A Valid License could not be obtained by the license manager" error [-5.412.0]
Please help me to solve this.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Jamilla!

It was also difficult for me to figure out this problem. I had the same problem with my Autodesk. I contact my friends and my teacher and discus the problem with them but I was out of luck and I was completely stuck at that time. But after that I found the solution. I could not believe that a simple solution could solve my problem. Anyways do not worry about the problem I have a solution for you. You just have to delete a file.

OK so if you are using Windows xp then go to the following path:

C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodeskAdlm
Here find the file Cascadeinfo.cas and delete this file.

If you are using windows Vista or Windows 7 then go to the following path:

C:ProgramDataAutodeskAdlm

Here find and delete the same file cascadeinfo.cas

After that reboot your system.

Thanks

To resolve that issue, you will need to do the following:

  1. Right-click on My Computer and then click on Properties.
  2. After that you will need to click the advanced tab in the System Properties dialog box.
  3. Still on the advanced tab, you will need to click Environment Variables.
  4. The Environment Variables dialog box will open; you will locate System Variables and then click New.
  5. In the New User Variable dialog box, you will need to enter FLEXLM_TIMEOUT for the name and then 10000000 for the value.
  6. And after that you will click OK to close each dialog box.
  7. Once you have done that, launch the Autodesk application and see if it works properly.

AutoCad 2007 based products contain licensing improvements that increase network bandwidth & latency requirements. To solve this issue, increase network bandwidth or decrease latency to an acceptable level so the license management technology can function correctly.
