I have 2 workstations that has Media Composer 6.5 installed on both. And sadly, both are having a Pan and Zoom Issues that cause Media Composer 6.5 to stopped on working. Also, when adding keyframes to do some action while saving the project, an error appears:

Error message: Assertion failed: value Type == paramTypeDouble

File:/Volume/Data/Snapshots/relengsnow3_1334690900/coresw/ame/Projects/Mac/../../src/Compman/AParamClip.c,

Line: 3279

Create Report / Exit Application / Continue / Debugger

I am running Windows 7 and please help me resolve this. Thanks a lot!

Assertion Failed Error on Media Composer 6.5

If you are using Microsoft Windows 7, make sure it is 64-bit and not 32-bit. Because if it doesn’t the product may not work on your computer. For Windows users, the Avid Media Composer 6.5 supports only 64-bit Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1. The application also doesn’t mention support for Windows 8 and higher.

So if you are using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, the application may or may not work. For Mac users, it includes support for Mac OS X 10.7.1 Lion, 10.7.2, 10.7.3, 10.7.4, 10.7.5, and Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.8.1, 10.8.2. This requirement applies to Media Composer and Symphony.

Try visiting Avid’s official website and verify that your graphics adapter is supported. Because when I checked the product’s supported hardware, I found out that the supported video cards were mostly NVIDIA and ATI Radeon HD graphics adapters. Make sure that your computer meets all the requirements for the program to work.
