Christina, although Outlook has a lot of features even better than Gmail, there are still features which Gmail has that it doesn't, these features include;

  • Gmail has a feature of POP3 and IMAP that enables users to port over from their other email providers to their Gmail account, Outlook doesn’t have this feature.
  • Gmail also offers many features that make the Gmail account look great, a good example is the Flickr previews which allow photo previews in mail.
  • Gmail also offers a greater security as it allows as many as 200 characters for passwords while Outlook offers only 16 characters maximum
  • Although Outlook is not slow, Gmail is faster maybe due to Google’s search engine ability.
  • Gmail retains a consistent layout in mail view and other added views for instance the Calendar whereas Outlook (beta version), the change from Mail view to calendar changes the interface to an outdated style.
