In Internet Explorer 7, all application is freezing. The browser sort of stops working. It keeps on doing that even if I restart. How can I solve this problem?

There are a lot of reasons why your applications are freezing using Internet Explorer 7. It is possible that you may have an incompatible browser extension, or it could be because of the add-ons, and sometimes it can be due to a spyware or malware.
To resolve the issue with the add-ons just go to Start, click on All Programs, then System Tools. From there click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Then restart Internet Explorer. If it runs smoothly and the applications are no longer freezing, and your IE7 is already running smoothly then the issue is resolved.
If you want to know which add-ons might have been causing the problem, you may start IE7 go to Tools, Program Tab, then to Manage Add-ons. Under “Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer” there will be lists of all the add-ons that were installed on your system. Just click on the name of the enabled add-on and disable it under the Settings option. After that, close IE7 and restart it. Once you have identified which add-on is causing the issue, you may want to uninstall it by going to Start, Control Panel, then to Add/Remove Programs.

It seems that IE add-ons are causing this problem. Microsoft support page suggests that you try their Automatic fix "Microsoft Fix it" in order to fix Internet Explorer add-on problems when IE hangs or freezes. You will find the fix in this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2970908/how-to-use-microsoft-easy-fix-solutions . click the green run button and follow the onscreen prompts to launch. You can download this automatic fix and run on a different or disconnected computer. This fix can be used too if IE is unstable or does not respond because of one or more browser add-ons or plug-ins and if IE startup is slow.

These unwanted add-ons had been the cause all along. After I removed them, I was now able to use my browser smoothly. Thanks for the help and to this site.
