I also was using Windows for more than 3 years, then I switched on to MAC. Now as time passes I feel that MAC computers are much better than Windows, but there are limitations too, which should be taken into consideration. I am currently using a MacBook and will buy a Mac Air soon. The advantages of Apple computers are:

  • The Mac computers don’t get affected by viruses, as they have their own application designed by them, for their PC's and phones, so it has no virus coding. If a virus is inserted inside a Mac computer, then it stays inside the computer but doesn’t work, as the operating system does not support that format of file.
  • iLife is a suite application, developed by Apple for organizing, editing, and publishing photos, movies, and music. The application comprises 5 major ones: iPhoto,iMovie,iDVD, GarageBand and iWeb, runs on the MAC OS X.
  • The appearance of Mac computers is unbeatable, the touch on mac computers is the best and applications are too good and looks are better than Windows.

By using Mac you can get rid of the stupid error messages, which normally occur in Windows operating system. Mac is Elegant.

People who say that Apple has far superior hardware, are wrong. The hardware of Apple and Windows doesn’t make any difference. Apple was back in the year 2003, with 80% of, their hardware.

With Windows based computers, one can Choose what hardware you want. For example: I will never spend 1600 $ for a new MacBook because, if I spend 1800 $ on a Windows operating computer then I can get quad core i7, NVIDIA gt8800, 4 GB of RAM, Windows 7 64 bit, and 1500 GB of storage.

One more drawback is that, if there is a Mac crash then the whole computer should be replaced. If it is in warranty then there is no problem, but if there is no warranty or it has been expired then, again you have to pay 1600 $. This is not the scene with Windows.

If any of my hardware crashes, then I can replace that particular hardware and my problem gets solved easily in less than 100 $.

Whenever you buy a computer, the hardware parts come from different companies, like hard disk from Seagate, lan card and sound card from creative,  video cards of ATi or NVIDIA, cabinet of some other company.

This is not the scene with MAC computers, they have their own hardware and their software are also designed to suite their hardware profile. So both the Hardware and Software run smoothly coordinating with each other.

In Windows computers, the brutal and viral infections are not shown and they are hidden from the user. The virus does its work by infecting the boot sectors and the user is unaware about this. But this is not the scene with Mac computers, because they don’t infect viruses and all the computer processes are in front of the user so he can see how much memory storage is used by any process.

Mostly all software, or you can say application run on MAC OS X and there is no place for viruses. But in the Windows system, there is ample space for viruses  and Windows  applications are bundled with viruses, which on executing crash the entire system. Hence Mac computers are more reliable than Windows.

Mac also has the fastest Browser i. e. Safari and we can also install other mac versions of Firefox, opera. MAC has a high degree of Service and support.
