I recently read that the apple’s iWatch is to be launched on April 24th. Has anyone heard about that?I am a sports person and would love to use this gadget during my swimming training sessions. Is it possible to use iwatch while swimming, bathing or in whatever conditions that might expose it to water.  Is it possible to operate it under water?  Is this Apple Watch Waterproof or water resistant?

Please someone to give me a helpful information?

Happy to support you!

IT'S WATER RESISTANT, BUT NOT NOT AT ALL WATERPROOF!

Apple Watch is resistant against snow, splash and water, but not completely waterproof. Its tolerance of liquids recommends wearing & using the Apple Watch during exercise, amidst rain, and while washing your hands. However, submerging it in water is not recommended. Under IEC standard 60529 it supports IPX7 of water resistance rating. Also the leather bands are not durable in high exposure to water. So it turns out that the Watch is fine with a little water, but definitely one cannot wear it while swimming & cannot operate under-water.

Hello Joseph!

Apple iWatch is IP67. What is this?

IP – means “Ingress Protection.”

6 – base for the dustproof protection and endurance.

7 – base for the “water resistance only.”

iWatch can only be used by athletes in washing their hands, caught off rain, or taking a bath. In swimming you need to take it off because iWatch will not be able to resist underwater pressure. It is only advisable to submerge this watch at least or within 3.3 feet or 1 meter only, for 30 minutes.
