I played fear 3 game n my PC and nearly finish the half of the game. Now there is an error and cannot start the game. So I had to reinstall the game. I don’t like to play in from the beginning again. So is it possible to copy the save files and then put them back after reinstallation the game. Is it possible, where is the place that fear 3 save files go.

Despite the fact that you can still find the save file of F.E.A.R. 3; it won't do much good as the game will still force you to start a new game. But, you can still try it just in case. You save game file is located in the directory listed below.
1. Go to "Stream" folder in the game file.
2. Open "Userdata" followed by "numbers".
3. Open "numberslocal".
4. The save game should be the file like FEAR##.dsSave.Â
N.B:Â "##" represents numbers.
Another procedure you can do is by searching for .dsSave file in your hard disk drive.
1. Open your "Search" option.
2. In the search dialog type *.dsSave .
3. Click "Search".

I think its possible to retrieve your save files, If you are using Windows XP, the directory of the save files of Fear 3 is located to C:Documents and SettingspcusernameApplication DataSKIDROW or when you are using Windows 7/Vista the location of the save files is C:UserspcusernameAppDataLocalSKIDROW.
Instruction:
1. Once you locate this folder (SKIDROW), just copy to your desktop.
2. Uninstall the existing Fear 3 game in your control panel (Add/Remove Programs).
3. After that, you can install it again the Fear 3 with the New installation.
4. Once done, copy (SKIDROW) folder on your desktop then open the location of Fear 3 –> save files, overwrite the existing folder (SKIDROW).
If Windows XP —> C:Documents and SettingspcusernameApplication DataSKIDROW.
If Windows 7/Vista —> C:UserspcusernameAppDataLocalSKIDROW.

Yes, you can easily copy your saved game if you don’t want to play it again from the beginning.
For this purpose please go to your game installed folder Dstream and select userdata folder here you will find a folder named as local, all of your saved files are placed over here you may have to copy this folder and after re-installation, replace your new folder with this. Now you can play your game from last saved stage.

I think that it is possible to copy the save file. The state is saved with .dsSave extension. You can get it from this location DStreamuserdatanumbersnumberslocal.Â
