I have run avast free version and scanned entire system. Now all the files were either deleted or moved to chest.
But all the drives still show the space as used and still the folders are in the same drive, how to retrieve them

The best solution that could be is that the free version cannot remove the viruses. If you want to remove viruses from your computer and want to make free spaces in your drive use the registered version. To get the registered version, you need to purchase one from the market. In order to completely get rid of viruses in general its preferable to use registered version of the anti-virus sometimes some free antiviruses causes the problem by downloading viruses so it shows you that it had captured some viruses, I also recommend Avira Antivirus . If you have lost some of your files because of corruption you better user file recovery software which will retrieve back all your filesÂ
