I am looking for a text messaging app to install on my android touch screen Smartphone. I want an app that can give me warning notices about the identity of the contacts I am sending the messages to, with an option to send or cancel the text. Where can I find such an app? If this app exists, how can I install and use it instead of the pre-installed text messaging service platform on my android phone? Or if this app I am looking for already exists on android phones, then how can I configure the setting on the phone to provide me with this warning message before dispatching the text?

If you are looking for an alternative to the default SMS application that’s installed on your Android Smartphone, try Google Hangouts. Though this app is installed on most devices by default, in case your Android phone doesn’t have it, you can try if your phone is compatible with it. Visit Google Hangouts to download.

This app is not only designed for video and instant messaging but can also handle your text messages. The bad news is Google Hangouts will often automatically sign you in into your Google account when you open it which will show you as “online” to users using Hangouts on the web.

Another app you can try is the EvolveSMS. It has a streamlined design and manages your conversations into tabs. What’s great about it is that you can switch conversations by simply swiping on the screen. The app supports iOS emoji, group messaging, and the ability to block phone numbers from sending you text messages. Visit EvolveSMS Android App to download.

I guess the downside for the app is the theme. Though EvolveSMS allows you to use extra themes but it needs to be purchased.
