Anybody here using aim? Ok I just noticed this right now, whenever I try to change my font and click on the "more fonts" it is giving me this error, don’t know anything about this bad image and I think it is a system file?

Settings – General IM: aim.exe – Bad Image

C:Windowssystem32mshtmler.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

Hello Tikwa,

To resolve the bad image error you are getting when using AIM you will need to try the following workarounds:

  • You will need to scan your computer with Ad-Aware, SpySweeper, Norton AntiVirus or any other antivirus that you may be having on your system. You computer could be under malware or virus attack that is causing the bad image error that you are getting right now.
  • You will also need to download a new mshtmler.dll file from the internet and then go to the system folder and replace the one that is there right now.
  • You can try deleting the mshtmler.dll file altogether too.
  • If the issue is not resolved yet, try running system to a time before you started getting that error.

Regards,

Carl
