I own a computer that i bought for home use and after installing an operating system in it and some other softwares, i found out that my computer randomly shuts down. What could be the possible problems and how can i solve these problems? I will need a general scenario solution of this problem for me to apply first before checking out the other methods.
Computers are most likely to shutdown randomly because of some of the generic reasons listed below and these reasons have a solution along with them.
Over Heating:
Some computer hardwares a built in such a way that when a component in the computer is over heated during use, for prevention of the computer from getting bad, it starts shutting down itself automatically. Anytime you put it on, it shuts down again. This usually happens when the computer has been very busy and work very hard like playing games with high graphics for long. The only way to solve this problem is to wait until the temperature of the component reduces below the threshold value on which it was built on then you computer can stop the random shut down until the temperature again goes above threshold.
Virus:
Some computer virus are programmed to perform automatic shutdown without warning the user and every time you power on the computer, during start-up, it shuts down again. When a situation like this happens and you are using windows, try booting through safe mode and then clear all programs running during start-up and if it doesn't work, just format the entire drive(Note: backup data) and them install a new operating system again.

Hi, Maurice B Rodgers adding some software and other application is the main cause of this rebooting some software need to be booted before the will start working so you OS will boot right away, you don't have to worry on those things your unit is Ok and there nothing wrong with it. The next time you apply a new application to your OS, if it will reboot right away. Don't be concerned. You will only concern if your OS will not boot after applying new software.
