Advice me on how to turn off drive lock ?
Folow these steps:
-
Click on Start
-
type in "gpedit.msc", a Group Policy Editor result will appear. Click on it.
-
On the left side Find User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer
-
On the right side you will now see a list of functions and tasks. In this list find the "Prevent access to drives from my computer"
-
Double-Click on it and another dialog box will appear.
-
In this box if Disabled is selected, you will have access to drives. If Enabled is selected then your drives will be locked.
-
Choose your preference, click OK.
And that is it. You now know how to lock/unlock drives on your PC. This works for Vista as well as windows 7.
