Hi,

Actually it is a short way to your mailbox; you can receive, send or read mails through it. You can access it directly from your desktop or your web browser to get your emails, all in one place. The main advantage is that, you do not have to look for emails regularly; it notifies you when you have a new mail or you can check them by yourself.
It is an easy-to-use application but just for the people who are regularly dealing with their emails, if you are not one of them; there is no use of keeping it in your system.

Thanks.

Webmail client or web-based email is any email client applied as a web application running on a web server. This usually applies to website owners or webmasters because they have full access to the web server through the cpanel. Four examples of webmail clients are the following:

  • SquirrelMail – this is free, open source webmail client that has a pretty draconian user interface. It will work in almost any browser including Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.
  • RoundCube – like SquirrelMail, RoundCube is also free software. It supports IMAP and SMTP and has a nice user interface with drag and drop support.
  • Horde Mail – this is free, open source webmail client written in PHP. It is also called “Horde IMP”.
  • SmarterMail – of the four webmail clients, this one is not free. It is an MS Exchange alternative that goes beyond the basic functionality of a webmail client. The Enterprise solution with 250 accounts will cost you $499 while the unlimited option is currently at $1399.
