I think there is a problem with the installation of AVG because if it is installed properly, you will not have this error and scheduling a scan will be easy. Try reinstalling AVG antivirus. Uninstall it first then restart your computer. Next, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK.

Check Temporary Files, click OK and click Delete Files. Install AVG antivirus back and see if it works. It is also best if you use the latest version. To download, visit AVG AntiVirus Free 2015. This latest version supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 both x86 and x64. Remember when downloading the installer, the setup file is an online installer and you need to be connected to the internet during the installation.

If you wish to use the offline installer which doesn’t need an internet connection, download AVG 2014 for Windows x86 or AVG 2014 for Windows x64.
