Adobe Save for Web Error

I am using Mac Book Pro (13" Core i7 mid 2012). I have ‘CS6 Creative Cloud subscription’ with all the most up-to-date update. I also have Mountain Lion 10.8.2 with up-to-the-minute update.

But what worries me is that there I get a problem on 10.8.1.

There I failed to save any format. It happened always. So I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop.

Nevertheless, I am getting the same error message, saying.

Adobe Save for Web Error

Could not complete this operation, an unknown operating system error has occurred.

Is there any way to get rid of it?

Please help.

Well there are two things you should do:

1st Thing is when saving a format in Adobe Photoshop you should save it in jpeg, gif or png and if you still get an error stating ‘Adobe Save for Web Error’. Try saving the document normally as a psd file.

2nd Thing is after saving the document in psd file you must restart the Adobe Photoshop.

That easy. This will stop you from getting the same error message.

First make sure that you have updated your latest version of Adobe Photoshop correctly in your machine. Here’s how to know this:

1. From Photoshop, choose Help > Updates.
2. The Adobe Application Manager will launch. Select Adobe Photoshop CS5 and choose Update.
3. In Photoshop, choose Help > About Photoshop (Win), or Photoshop > About Photoshop (Mac)
4. For Mac perpetual customers, the version at the top will be Version: 13.0.4
5. Now Delete the Save for Web prefs.
6. In windows you will find this in —- C:UsersAdministratorAppDataRoamingAdobeSave For Web AI16.0
7. In Mac you will find this in —– User:Hans:Preferences:Adobe

This problem normally happens in OS X and is thrown when you try to save your file using the “Save for Web” feature of Adobe Photoshop. The usual remedy is to delete the preferences file for Adobe Photoshop. This method doesn’t always work for some users because not all preferences files are deleted. To fix it properly, you need to delete the preferences file in three different locations.

To fix this problem in Adobe Photoshop and so you can save your file using the “Save for Web” feature, you need to delete the preferences file in the following locations:

  • * Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Save For Web 13.0 Prefs
  • * Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Plugins/Adobe Save for Web CC
  • * Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC Settings/Save for Web Prefs.psp

Close Adobe Photoshop and then delete both files and folders in those locations and then restart Adobe Photoshop. See if this works.
