Hi,

Today I wanted to install Adobe Reader 9.3, but during the installation this error 1402 appeared and stopped the install. I have checked the compatibility with my system and there is no problem. Is there any solution for this error ? How it can be fixed ?

Thanks !

Whenever you receive error 1402 when installing Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, the first thing you can try is to uninstall all previous versions of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. To uninstall it, click Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. Find and select Adobe Reader and click Remove or Uninstall to uninstall the program.

Once removed, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C. In “Files to delete”, check “Temporary files” and click OK. After that, restart your computer and install Adobe Reader again. If you wish to download the latest version, visit Adobe Home Page and download Adobe Reader.

If you still can’t install Adobe Reader even using the latest version, check your computer for any signs of infection. Update your antivirus and run a full system scan on your computer. If you are using Webroot Spy Sweeper, disable it temporarily and try installing it again. Just re-enable it once you are finished with the installation.

If you have McAfee VirusScan 8.5 Access Protection, disable it first and run the installer again. This version of the McAfee program is known to cause error when installing Adobe Reader.
