Hello Experts,

I get this error when trying to export clips that I've cut that are in my timeline in Premiere CS4, which IS activated. The funny thing is that in Premiere, it looks like it works. It's only when I notice, hey, there's a new thing in my taskbar and see this message. However, the clips do NOT export.

AMT Subsystem Error

Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated.

Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder.

Hi James

I also encountered this error when I am going to encode the video output o Adobe After Effects to Adobe Media Encoder. Luckily I solved this problem in Adobe Media Encoder. These are the steps that I followed:

  1. Go to: C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Media Encoder CS4
  2. Delete this file: amtlib.dll
  3. Then Go to : C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Premiere Pro CS4
  4. Copy amtlib.dll from there:
  5. Then paste the amtlib.dll to this location: C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Media Encoder CS4
  6. Done! Restart Adobe Media Encoder.

Note: If you use 32-bit versions or version prior to CS6 then choose the correct folders for your case.

I hope this method also fixed your problem in Adobe Media Encoder.

To fix this, simply delete the amtlib.dll in your Adobe Media Encoder installation folder located at C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Media Encoder CS4 and then go to the Adobe Premiere Pro installation folder and copy that amtlib.dll from there.

Also, ensure that you have activated your Adobe Premiere Pro copy. Registering is different from activating so you need to make sure that you are done with this process. If the above step didn't work, reinstall Premiere again.

Some users have also encountered this error and here’s the workaround. Open Windows Explorer then navigate to “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6”, “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS5”, or “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS4” whichever is your version. Look for and delete the file “amtlib.dll”. Next, navigate to “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6”, “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS5”, or “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4” whichever version you have.

In this folder, look for the file “amtlib.dll” then copy it to “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6” or to the version you have. See if this works.
