Dear everyone at TechyV,

I just recently bought an MSI U100 netbook. I choose this because I can see that it is very much handy and I can bring it with me all the time.

So, I left my other laptop at home.

I need to have Adobe PhotoShop with me all the time as it is also required it my work. The Adobe PhotoShop CS3 was successfully installed in my MSI netbook, however, I cannot get it to load. I did not bother to take down the error, but as far as I can remember, it has something to do with the screen size or screen resolution.

I want to be able to use the PhotoShop CS3 in my handy netbook. Please let me know if I can change settings to make it work.

Regards,

Moore

If It shows some error about your display resolution, it must be that your netbook’s display resolution does not match the minimum display resolution required to run Adobe Photoshop CS3.

I can see on this page that your netbook’s display resolution is 1024×600. But Adobe Photoshop CS3 requires a minimum display resolution of 1024×768 as stated in its readme document here.

It is also impossible to run other older versions of the Adobe Photoshop CS series as they also require a minimum display resolution of 1024×768 as stated here.

However, you can still try out Adobe PhotoShop CS, if it somehow starts up even at a lower display resolution. You can also try using external monitors having a display resolution higher than 1024×768 if you really want to run PhotoShop on your netbook.

If you want to install Adobe Photoshop CS3, you need to check the system requirements first then make sure your computer meets those requirements. Adobe Photoshop CS3 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista (Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise edition).

It requires Intel Pentium 4, Intel Centrino, Intel Xeon, Intel Core Duo, or faster processor; 512 MB RAM; video card with 64 MB video RAM; 1 GB free space; and 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution. For QuickTime multimedia features, Adobe Photoshop CS3 requires QuickTime 7 or higher.

In your case, if you successfully installed it but you cannot get it to run and the error is something about the screen size, you just need to change the size of your screen to 1024 x 768 pixels. To do this, click “Start”, “Control Panel” then select “Display”. On the next screen, click to change your screen size to 1024 x 768 then click “OK”.

After this, Photoshop should be loading normally.
