Hello Everyone,

I have an .ai extensions file in my pen drive.

But when I plug it into a Mac, it changes to .PDF.

What could be the reason?

Thanks

Hello,

The reason why your .ai format changed into .pdf when you plug it in to Mac is because Apple has made it easy with Preview. Preview is obscenely fast at opening PDFs, .jpgs, .eps and even .ai files.

Open your .eps or .ai file in Preview and save the file. Preview will automatically choose PDF as the file format.

Thank you

You probably opened the AI file from your USB flash drive on your Mac and you didn’t notice that the file was saved into another format. This is because of the program called Preview which is installed or included in Mac OS X. It can be used to save AI or EPS files into PDF format. It is also fast in opening files like PDF, JPG, EPS, and AI.

For example, if you are in a situation where you need to submit your sample logo to your group but not all of your members can open EPS files and you are using a Mac, the fastest way to fix it is to open the EPS file on your Mac using Preview and then save the file. You don’t need to specify the file format to use.

Preview will automatically select PDF as its file format when you save it.
