We will soon merge our company to another company and we are both using Active Directory 2003 domains.

As of now, since we are just about to merge with them, we want to know how can we conflate separate networks and merge it to make a single network.

What are the procedures for this?

Hey Doreen,

Follow these steps below and you should be able to resolve your problem-

1. Make a new local group in the main domain that has a name %sourcedomain%$$$. Make sure, there are no members in that group.

2. Select auditing for the success and failure of that account management on both of the domains in the Default Domain Controllers policy.

3. Configure the main domain to allow RPC access to the SAM by configuring the following registry entry on the PDC Emulator in the source domain with a DWORD value of 1:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > Control > LSA > TcpipClientSupport
