Hi techyv,

Active x for firefox mac is not working. I am using mac operating system and I downloaded a free active x plug in. What is the main cause or reason why is this happening? Is this has to do with compatibility measurements or requirements that needed to meet?

Hoping for your help.

Hello Any,

You are trying to run Active X in Firefox and you are using Mac. But I am sorry to inform you that Firefox is not compatible with Active X. The reason is Active X is associated with Windows operating system so, webpages which depend on Active X technology will not be functional in Linux or Mac if you are using Firefox as your browser.

Secondly, ActiveX technology is integrated with Windows. So it is a target for Malicious Software.

To use Active X technology in mac please do the following:

1. Open your Internet Explorer browser in Mac.

2 Click "Explorer" in the top left corner of the browser.

3. Go for the Web Content Tab on the left.

4. Mark "Enable Plug-ins" and "Enable Scripting" in the "Active Content" Part.

5. You'll have to restart your browser now and you will be able to use Active X in Mac

Thank you.
