Active directory carried out after migration

Does anyone has any information on whether the active directory is carried out automatically after installation of a domain or do you have to install this afterwards? The reason for asking this is because I am considering upgrading to a domain environment in server 2003 from a workgroup in Sever 2000.

You can get your Active directory back on a new domain after installation by restoring Active directory from the backup.

System state is backed with the Active directory

To do this you may use for the non authoritative restore of Active directory, the non authoritative restore of SYSVOL, the Authoritative restoration of Active directory and Authoritative restore of SYSVOL. From this form you get to choose which one works best in your situation.

Ensure you install a domain control through reinstalling and recover from the backup. This works very fast where there are other domains installed so in your condition it will pick up very fast. So you need not worry any more because there are ways of getting things done.
