Accessing Shared Folder with Limited Access

Hi! I need to know if there is a way that a user is allowed to have a limited access to the shared folder. The user can only read the contents but never be allowed to copy it. And also, is it possible to have a control in the bandwidth of each user in ISA server without using any third-party software.  Please send me some ideas. Thank you.

You are asking about sharing access, if you want a folder to be shared, it is possible of course and you are asking if you can set an access to that shared folder, that is also possible, you can do that even only in windows XP, in windows 7 it is of course possible. In ISA it is possible. You can also create bandwidth rules; this is very useful especially for internet traffic. You need to create first bandwidth rules to control the bandwidth of the users. You need to perform this three to create bandwidth rules:

  • Create policy elements
  • Create bandwidth rules using policy elements.
  • Create bandwidth priorities.

If you are running a network and you want to set some access on your files and folders over a network then it is possible. You can set a network and then you will be able to share over network and you will be able to maintain your records, folders, files and more on that network. All you need is a server and some computer that run over network. All these makes a network and server maintain this network you can specify on the server that what user will use what data and how much bandwidth the user will use. I hope you are using more the one computer then you are able to do the same thing. you can setup a network also there are some programs in these days who react as a network but they are not so effective. A network is effective and easy way to solve your problem.

If you simply want to implement it on one computer then you need to go to START and then to RUN and type services and then you can disable and enable any task in your computer. I hope now you have enough knowledge to solve your problem.
